We are all different, so these are just some of my personal preferences in what I do, and thought I would share them with you! To Start With: I am a huge consignment and clearance shopper. I hardly buy anything that is the price it is first listed as. Or, I have non-negotiable prices that I just won't buy an item for. So, sometimes I save money by not buying anything! Haha. Comfy n' Cute Home Outfits: Whether you're married or not, and just want to feel cute while lounging around the house or doing chores? Shop the clearance rack for stretchy leggings/jeggings! Some of the ugliest leggings can make the cutest shorts! Cut about an inch or two below where you want the bottom of the shorts to reach, and then fold them back up to that line. Usually, no sewing is even required. The last leggings I bought: $3.00. If they are floral, they can be super cute shorts. Not sure how to make it match? Find a solid color that goes with it. Throw on accessories if you'd like! If you need to go somewhere, you can feel confident to just walk out that door and do what you need to do (scramble and hassle free)! And you're most likely going to be in a better mood because of that. It's not about looks; it's about how you feel, the money you save, and the stress you reduce! (Especially, if you are a mom!) If you struggle with finding shorts that fit, this is a great way to get cute, comfortable, great-fitting, money-saving, shorts. Sunday Outfits/Work Outfits: If you don't want to stress about spending money on too many items for variety, it's great wearing a blazer with just about anything! I will wear tanktops that I also will use to sleep in (in other words, it doesn't have to be fancy and spendy in order to be nice, presentable, and classy), then just throw on a necklace or earrings. Otherwise, let your face and smile and character be what completes the outfit. You can feel more confident in wearing a blazer more often with different tanks and t-shirts underneath it. I also love wearing my blazer with nice jeans. Coffee: I do not buy many specialty coffees. Actually, hardly ever (for myself anyway). I have a Keurig, but I do not buy K-Cups. My reasons: taste, cost, health (plastic + super hot water = yikes). How do I save? I buy the huge, Starbucks bag at Costco, grind my own beans (not all at once, so flavor is preserved), then put the grounds in the reusable, metal cup, and brew. Otherwise, you can also save that way by using a traditional coffee pot. I put leftover coffee in a tumbler with fixings, put it in the fridge, and when I crave cold coffee or frappes, I just drink that. To me, it tastes just as satisfying, takes away my craving, and saves me a lot of money! Snacks: If you are craving a snack, see if there is a cheaper alternative that will do the trick! For example, I happen to crave jerky at sporatic times. *This may not be healthy advice, but again, just sharing an example of how I, personally, save money* Instead of getting jerky as often, I will try to at least get pepperoni slices (turkey is healthier) half the time in place of it. This saves me money in the midst of my cravings. Or in other cases, you just make sacrifices and don't do it. How much do I love jerky? Well, let's just say I love chocolate, but I will take jerky over chocolate just about any day. Make-Up: I save on makeup by not buying so much makeup for all their individual reasons. I am pretty basic. Just recently I watched on YouTube how some ladies apply makeup, and if I did it the same way, I'd have to buy about 80% more than what I already have. Do your makeup how make-up fits for you. Try to use all your makeup before buying more, and try to not have more than than 1 or 2 varieties in face makeup (foundations/bronzers). This will also allow you to use the makeup you have before buying extra makeup. I never watched anything or read anything on applying make-up, I just did it. I understand some people need instructions and how-to's, but you don't have to buy what people buy, or as MUCH as people buy, to get a nice look that fits YOU. It's okay to find your own style and keep it basic. I may spend more on some items, but that is for health/natural preferences. I save money by not buying so many brushes, powders, pallettes, cremes, mascaras, enhancing makeup that enhances makeup, etc. I don't buy fake nails and fake eyelashes. Spendy! Ladies, I know some of you don't have long eyelashes, but you don't have to have that to be beautiful. Just enhance what you have, rather than break your wallet on emphasizing a look more than your individual personality. Not saying you can't spend a little more on it, just letting you know that you are more than your make-up! If You Sew/Bead: If you like to use beads or jewels for projects, you can take them off of jewelry (necklaces/earrings/bracelets) you wouldn't wear, but would use the beads for. Garage sales, second-hand stores, consignment shops, and clearance racks are great for that sort of "treasure hunt"!
